On March 15, 2025, the Africa Community in Surrey & Sussex (ACISS), in collaboration with Carol’s Team, hosted a remarkable International Women’s Day celebration under the theme “Accelerate Action: Turning Conversations into Impact.”
The event, which was sponsored by Growing Health Together, brought together women from diverse backgrounds to discuss key health topics, celebrate achievements, and inspire lasting change. A major highlight of the event was an insightful session by Dr. Anita Sharma Raina, who led a thought-provoking discussion on menopause and diabetes, two critical health concerns affecting women worldwide. She emphasized the importance of early detection, proper management, and healthy lifestyle choices in improving overall well-being.

The event also featured:
- Discussions on menopause, mental well-being, and holistic care
- Recognition of women making a difference in their communities.
- Inspiring talks and engaging panel discussions.
Notably, Chancellor Victoria Chester was in attendance, adding to the significance of the occasion. Her presence further emphasized the importance of collective action in advancing women’s health and empowerment.
More than just a discussion, the International Women’s Day celebration served as a powerful platform to educate, uplift, and empower women to take charge of their health and well-being. It was a day of learning, networking, and driving real impact in the community.
